#1. PwC Canada acquires property tax consultancy Equitable Value
Equitable Value Inc., a Toronto-based consulting firm specializing in property tax and valuation, has been acquired by PwC Canada.
Established in 2011 by Jeff Grad, Equitable Value offers a range of services, including valuation, property tax, and assessment management, catering to commercial property owners and occupiers. The firm aids clients in optimizing tax liabilities and maximizing returns on properties across various categories, including multi-residential, office, commercial, and industrial.
Jeff Grad, the founder of Equitable Value, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "Our team is excited to become part of PwC Canada and contribute to the firm's growth and success nationwide. The expansive scale of PwC, coupled with their expertise in emerging technologies, combined with our deep knowledge of municipal and provincial statutes, regulations, and the commercial property market, opens up new opportunities for all of us."
#2. Sia Partners buys organizational change expert Notion Consulting
Sia Partners, a management consulting firm headquartered in Paris, has successfully acquired Notion Consulting, a leadership and organizational change consulting firm based in New York.
Established in 2015, Notion Consulting specializes in providing guidance to clients on various aspects such as transformation, restructuring, strategy launches, process and technology implementations, and executive transitions. With a team of 25 professionals, the firm serves companies across diverse sectors, including consumer goods and retail, energy, life sciences, communications, and entertainment.
The acquisition of Notion by Sia Partners marks a strategic move to enhance its transformation and change business unit in the US East region. Sia Partners founder and CEO, Matthieu Courtecuisse, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition's implications, stating, "The acquisition of Notion Consulting consolidates our position in the US and confirms our ambition for the North American region.”
He added, “Having Notion on board will allow us to expand Change Management & Organization capabilities and multiply business synergies." Courtecuisse, who relocated to the firm's New York office last year, further added, "We are now operating in seventeen locations in North America and are in line with our plan to expand to 20 locations with over 2,000 consultants by 2027."
#3. KCP Advisory Group and Altman and Company merge
KCP Advisory Group and Altman and Company, two restructuring and financial consulting firms based in Boston, have officially merged.
Established in 2008, KCP Advisory Group boasts a team of 11 professionals, as indicated on its website. The firm specializes in corporate restructuring, turnaround services, transaction advisory, litigation support, forensic analysis, financial advisory, business performance improvement, and interim management.
On the other hand, Altman and Company, founded in 1976, consists of seven professionals according to its website. The firm focuses on debt restructuring, financing alternatives, business review and analysis, bankruptcy support services, and customized solutions.
The newly merged entity, initially operating under the name KCP-Altman Advisory Group, will deliver a comprehensive range of services spanning crisis and turnaround management, financial advisory, performance improvement, interim management, lender portfolio management advisory, forensic accounting, and litigation support.
Jacen Dinoff, CEO of KCP, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, "We have collaborated with the Altman and Company team on various projects over the years. They are a highly experienced group of professionals who consistently deliver to their clients. The integration of our teams further enhances our capabilities, enabling us to offer fully integrated and improved solutions to our clients."
#4. Interlock Equity invests in Evolv Consulting
Los Angeles-based private equity firm Interlock Equity has recently undertaken a strategic growth investment in Evolv Consulting, a management and technology consultancy based in Dallas.
Established in 2018, Evolv specializes in business strategy, data and analytics, and digital transformation, boasting a workforce of 156 employees spread across its Dallas and Houston offices.
This collaboration with Interlock Equity is anticipated to fortify Evolv's market presence, expand its range of solutions, deepen industry expertise, and widen its geographic footprint.
Eric Neef, CEO of Evolv, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the evident cultural and philosophical alignment between the two firms. Neef believes that this strategic investment marks a significant milestone for Evolv, paving the way for accelerated growth while preserving and enhancing the company's exceptional culture as it scales its business operations.
