About Us

A Global Force for Security and Defence

With a skilled workforce of more than 93,000 people operating across more than 40 countries, we provide some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions. Our portfolio spans air, land, sea, space and cyber domains — from state-of-the-art cyber threat detection to flight control systems that give pilots a decisive edge. We invest significantly in skills and work closely with local partners to support economic development through the transfer of knowledge, skills and technology. This long-term commitment ensures our customers always maintain their advantage.

Who we are

100,000 People. 40 Countries. One Mission.

We are a global defence, aerospace and security company employing around 100,000 people in approximately 40 countries. Working alongside customers and local partners, our teams develop, engineer, manufacture, and support products and systems that deliver military capability, protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure. From advanced combat aircraft to undersea deterrents and intelligence-grade cyber solutions, our breadth of expertise spans the full spectrum of modern defence.

What we do

Technology-Led Solutions Across Every Domain

We specialise in delivering advanced defence, aerospace and security solutions across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains. Our capabilities include the design and manufacture of combat aircraft, naval vessels and submarines, land vehicles, electronic warfare systems, cyber defence services, digital transformation, and weapon systems. We push the boundaries of innovation continuously — combining cutting-edge engineering with deep operational expertise — to safeguard nations, enhance military capabilities, and protect critical infrastructure globally.

Our Purpose

Serving Those Who Protect Us

We serve, supply and protect those who serve and protect us — in a performance-driven corporate culture guided by strong values. Our mission is to help customers stay a step ahead when protecting people, national security, critical infrastructure and vital information. Through sustained investment in skills, technology and partnerships, we maintain a long-term commitment to both our customers and the communities in which we operate worldwide.

Our Values

Trusted, Innovative, Bold

Three values are fundamental to our culture and underpin everything we do. Trusted means we deliver on our commitments — we are honest, take responsibility, and can be relied upon, because everyone's contribution matters. Innovative means we create leading-edge solutions by valuing the imagination and experience within our organisation, empowering teams to turn ideas and technologies into reality. Bold means we constructively challenge and take the initiative, operating with tenacity and resolve, accepting stretching goals and managing risk with confidence. These values are not aspirational — they define how we behave every day, shaping our decision-making, our ethics programme, and the culture we are building together.

Why working with us

A Long-Term Partner, Not Just a Supplier

We bring together deep domain expertise, world-class engineering capability, and a long track record of delivering some of the most complex programmes in defence and security. Our customers benefit from a partner who understands the mission — one that never stops innovating to ensure they maintain their advantage in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. We work closely with local partners in every market we operate in, supporting economic development through knowledge and technology transfer. This commitment to in-country partnerships, combined with our global scale and specialised capabilities across air, land, sea, space and cyber, makes us a uniquely valuable long-term partner for governments, armed forces and security agencies.

Sustainability

Advancing Towards Net Zero

We are committed to playing our part in addressing climate change. Our sustainability strategy focuses on reducing energy consumption, purchasing renewable energy, and developing on-site renewable electricity supplies. We are progressing our net zero ambition in line with the UN Race to Zero campaign via the Business Ambition for 1.5°C pathway, and our approach is fully aligned with the Paris Agreement. As a technology company, innovation is central to our climate response — both in reducing the environmental impact of our own operations and in working with government and commercial customers to design sustainable solutions. More than 14,000 of our electric-hybrid systems are already in operation, saving over 30 million gallons of fuel and 335,000+ tonnes of CO₂. Our Board-level ESG Committee provides oversight of our sustainability agenda, ensuring climate considerations are embedded throughout the business.

Community & Impact

Investing in the Communities Where We Operate

We are committed to strengthening relationships and making a positive social and economic contribution in the communities where we live and work. Our investment focuses on three areas closely connected to our business: supporting armed forces personnel and their families, promoting STEM education and the future workforce, and broader community impact. Globally, we contribute through financial donations, in-kind support, employee payroll giving, volunteering and fundraising — directing more than £10 million annually to local, national and international charities and not-for-profit organisations. We also match employee donations to armed forces charities, first responder organisations and education programmes, and work with universities to support scholarships, internships and undergraduate placements that inspire the next generation of engineers and technologists.

Inclusion & Diversity

Building a Workforce as Diverse as the World We Protect

Our ambition is to be recognised as the leading employer in the defence and security sectors for valuing diversity, equity and inclusion. We have set clear global targets: 50% of Executive Committee members to be women by 2030, 30% of our UK workforce to be women by 2030, and targeted diversity ambitions across all countries in which we operate. We firmly believe that the inclusion of all our people — enabling everyone to contribute to the best of their ability — is vital to our business performance. We are committed to disability inclusion and have pledged our support to The Valuable 500 campaign. We give open, full and fair consideration to applications from disabled people and those with health conditions, and ensure training opportunities and appropriate accommodation are available to all. In recent years our gender diversity for senior managers has grown from 17.4% to 22.4%, and we continue to push for greater representation at every level.
