The Lantau Group was formed in a management buy-out of CRA International (Hong Kong) Limited, then a subsidiary of Charles River Associates. We are now an independent consultancy. Our team and network of affiliates provide expert economic and commercial consulting services to businesses and governments throughout the Asia Pacific region. We have deep expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, in regulatory economics and competition, and in commercial opportunity assessment. We assist investors evaluate opportunities in competitive electricity markets such as the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, and Western Australia. We provide due diligence support for investors with interests in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the countries in the Greater Mekong subregion. Our practice extends to both electricity and gas-related issues, including the economics of LNG-to-power, trucked LNG, renewables, and traditional coal or oil-fired generation. We assist large users in the region project their energy costs, evaluate energy efficiency investments, and identify key risk factors. For regulators and policymakers we advise on tariff structure and design, incentive regulation, environmental cost-benefit analysis, and factors that affect overall sector performance and efficiency.
