What we do
Targeted interventions that help change the trajectory of our clients’ business
At some point, virtually every organization will face a situation where they have no clear solutions to their challenging strategic problems. We’ve spent decades helping clients look at these challenges in new ways. In our relentless search for truth, we draw on our core competencies of research, benchmarking, modeling, analysis and strategy development. Then, through targeted interventions, we uncover hidden value and competitive opportunities that can catapult your business forward.
The foundation of our approach is built on:
Deep expertise with the technologies, business models and ecosystems of every client’s market
A hands-on, collaborative approach to developing solutions for long-term success
A philosophy of evidence, not opinion, that gets to the heart of the problem via rigorous analysis, in-depth research and an understanding of the market dynamics
The know-how to turn insights into action by addressing the capabilities, resourcing, coordination, and cultural and accountability barriers that often prevent a good strategy from fulfilling its potential
We’re always innovating:
Diversity and Inclusion
L.E.K. thrives because of its diverse people
Excellence in diversity and inclusion is an essential component of our core values — and our business. To that end, we seek to attract, retain and promote individuals who reflect the global marketplace and communities in which we work. We are committed to providing and promoting a diverse and inclusive environment for everyone at L.E.K., so that each person can succeed professionally regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender expression, religion, sexual orientation, age and/or disability.
We actively engage in diversity recruitment through partnerships with a variety of organizations and events, such as Reaching out MBA (ROMBA), the Forte Foundation and the Management Leaders for Tomorrow. We also partner with many women-in-business, diversity and affinity clubs and organizations on campus, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
L.E.K. is home to several affinity groups to support and enrich our employees, to make them future leaders at L.E.K. and beyond. They provide members with opportunities for networking and mentorship, and are designed so those members can share and discuss best practices for managing their work/life balance, achieving their career goals and furthering their personal development.
Mosaic@LEK is an affinity group that seeks to attract, recruit, develop, and retain individuals in the L.E.K. community who identify as racial and ethnic minorities. We aim to create a welcoming and supportive community through formal and informal activities across our offices that are designed to foster awareness, support career development, encourage community engagement, and share personal interests and goals. Mosaic@LEK aims to be active participants in L.E.K.’s diversity recruiting efforts across all staff levels. We also invite involvement from L.E.K.'s broader network of allies and alumni in order to promote discussions of diversity and inclusion. Mosiac@LEK includes a number of identity-groups that are formed and led by interested members of the L.E.K. team to help create and sustain an inclusive work environment at L.E.K. Some examples include Black@LEK, LatinX@LEK, Indigenous@LEK, Jewish@LEK, and Asians@LEK.
Women@LEK is the latest iteration of our women-focused initiative, which was created by fusing together our local women’s networks from around the world. It supports global programming, which includes an annual Women’s Summit along with various other ongoing activities. To help achieve our goal of having 20% of U.S. partners be women by 2025, in addition to the mentors all employees have access to, the group ensures we provide female Consultants and Managers with internal sponsors who are actively invested in their career development.
Partner Katya Zubareva discusses the L.E.K. Women’s Network, developed to champion diversity and support women as they grow and develop their consulting career.
The Parents’ Network supports the extensive family-friendly policies we have put in place at L.E.K., which is committed to providing a supportive environment for working parents and has won multiple awards for being a good place for mothers and fathers to work. This affinity group provides resources for employees who have children or are planning to help them balance their goals as professionals and parents — from providing information around internal policies such as flexible work options and leaves of absence to connecting them with external resources through the firm’s healthcare provider.
Vets with Impact is a growing affinity group within L.E.K. The combination of rigorous training and dedication to teamwork that is instilled in veterans aligns perfectly with the skills and values required to be successful at our firm. Members of this group are always willing to speak to other veterans about a career in consulting and can help guide their transition from the military to a business environment.
Pride@LEK supports the firm’s LGBTQ+ employees, from consultants all the way to the partner level, by offering a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment and creating a sense of community. The group also serves as a resource for both current and prospective employees whose family members identify as LGBTQ+. And Pride@L.E.K. welcomes and encourages involvement from the firm’s broader network of allies to promote discussion and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues among the wider L.E.K. community.
Partner Simon Middleton discusses Pride at L.E.K. and its role in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals.
AIDA is an L.E.K. Consulting affinity group founded in 2022 to support the firm’s focus on diversity and inclusion by creating a community that promotes awareness of the unique perspectives involved with living and working in the U.S. as a noncitizen. AIDA is an acronym that stands for “Achieving International Diversity and Awareness,” highlighting the group mission to acknowledge and promote L.E.K.’s international talent pool and foster cross-cultural exchange within the firm. This affinity group provides support and resources across several dimensions, including effective integration into North American culture, connectivity and community with other employees in similar situations, immigration and visa sponsorship, and mentorship.

Environmental Responsibility
L.E.K. is dedicated to environmental sustainability and strives to be a leader when it comes to broad environmental policy, from the reduction of carbon and other greenhouse gases to waste, pollution and more. We were the first major consulting firm to achieve carbon-neutral status — in 2008 — and we continue to be a forerunner today.
We have also pledged to be carbon net zero in our operations by 2030 through a combination of business model changes and carbon reduction initiatives as well as carbon-capture projects and offsets. Not only have we embarked on a program to both significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that result from our operations and invest in initiatives that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, but we have also developed a sustainability strategy anchored by five pillars: tracking emissions, offsetting emissions, changing employee behavior, moving to green energy in L.E.K. offices that don’t already use it, and continually innovating and engaging in the sustainability and net zero imperative.
Currently, a significant portion of our office energy is derived from green power sources, and we expect to convert our remaining offices that aren’t already powered by renewable energy to sustainable sources in as short a time frame as possible. Our business model of working primarily in our offices instead of at client sites already means that we produce fewer carbon emissions than our competitors, on both an absolute and a per-person basis. To reach our goal, we will discourage our employees from taking flights if travel can be done within the same time frame and cost by train, encourage increased use of videoconferencing and hybrid work arrangements whenever appropriate, and make carbon emissions a criterion in the selection of all L.E.K. events and venues.
We also have an active network of “green” committees in each office, which offer employees a way to participate in the firm’s sustainability efforts. These local committees play a critical role in our efforts and organize a variety of initiatives and events to both make L.E.K. a better environmental steward and ensure we give back to local environmental organizations. In the meantime, Sustainable L.E.K., a global environmental sustainability committee established in 2020, will continue to monitor and refine the firm’s sustainability efforts going forward. Those efforts include a new partnership with Tree-Nation, which will see a tree planted for every existing L.E.K. employee around the globe and for each new person who joins the firm in the future.
At L.E.K., we are committed to reducing our own footprint; we are also committed to helping our clients improve their sustainability strategies. To that end, in the spring of 2021, we launched the L.E.K. Sustainability Centre of Excellence. By drawing together our collective experience and perspective, the Centre acts as both an internal and external resource for the firm and our clients, respectively, providing leadership, best practices and support. Its members conduct research on key issues related to sustainable practices to further L.E.K.’s capabilities so that we can best assist clients with addressing their sustainability challenges.
Our People
A culture of inclusion and belonging
Diversity of thought, experience and background is central to our approach at L.E.K. Our vision for L.E.K. is a workplace environment where all staff feel safe to be their authentic selves. We’ve established our Belonging@LEK campaign to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. At L.E.K., we’re committed to equal gender representation. We’ve taken significant steps to ensure gender parity across all our processes.
Our Purpose
We solve for a better future
Our purpose statement means taking actions that create a better future for all our stakeholders:
Our Values
Our core values
Community & Impact
Giving back to our community
L.E.K. has a tradition of charitable giving and has developed long-running partnerships spanning decades with charities and other non-profit organizations in our community.
Community Responsibility
At L.E.K., we believe in giving back, in using our time and expertise to make the world a better place. We recognize our responsibility to local communities and the world at large, and we know that lifting up those most in need benefits us all. To that end, we volunteer our time and our resources to help fundraise for our global offices’ respective local charities, as well as make direct financial contributions, and we perform pro bono casework, both on an individual case basis as well as on an ongoing basis, for a number of non-profit organizations.
Our offices and staff around the world devote their time and talent to supporting charitable organizations where it can have the biggest impact—at the local level.
L.E.K. Chicago raises money every year for Cara Collective, a local non-profit focused on job training and placement for the homeless and poverty-stricken, through a variety of fundraising and community events. L.E.K. New York supports New York Cares’ annual coat drive by donating new or gently worn coats that are then distributed to those in need across the city. L.E.K. San Francisco participates in an annual indoor cycling event hosted by the Equinox Gym to help raise money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, while L.E.K Boston fields a team of cyclists for the Pan-Mass Challenge, which raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
L.E.K. London staff advise Grow Movement, which partners U.K.-based business professionals with East African entrepreneurs in Uganda, Rwanda and Malawi to mentor them on growth plans. The London office has also helped raise funds for Riding for the Disabled Association, which provides therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people of all ages and disabilities by organizing horse-riding, assisted carriage-riding and other equestrian activities, and Mind, which offers advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
L.E.K. Paris’s community service team works with Les Restos du Coeur, which distributes food packages and hot meals to those in need, to raise funds through projects such a Christmas gift-wrapping operation, as well as through pro bono work.
L.E.K. Sydney partners with Hope Street, a community center that assists people in need, many of whom are living with homelessness, addiction, mental health and legal issues, to help with fundraising, workplace giving and hands-on volunteering. For the New South Wales chapter of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), the Sydney office has hosted a collaborative strategy workshop complete with live data analysis, research and strategic analysis skills training. And L.E.K. Melbourne supports St. Mary's House of Welcome, which provides housing and support services, through workplace giving, the ongoing donation of goods and the development of fundraising initiatives.
L.E.K. China supports CereCare Wellness Center, a Shanghai non-profit education and therapy center for children with cerebral palsy, by providing volunteering support and raising funds.
