Working with us

An Open, Welcoming, and Highly Knowledgeable Team

Working at PKF means joining a network of professionals who believe that people — the people we advise, the communities where we operate, and the colleagues we work alongside — are at the heart of everything we do. Across 17 offices throughout the UK and Ireland and a team of over 2,000 staff, we are large enough to offer a full breadth of services spanning audit, tax, advisory and consulting, but small enough to retain a genuinely personal approach. Our culture is open and welcoming. Decisions are made close to the client and close to the work, and senior partners are accessible to everyone. We work with inspiring clients across a wide range of sectors — from listed corporates and private equity-backed businesses to family enterprises and owner-managed businesses — which means that no two days look the same. Whether you are based in London, the South West, Scotland, the Midlands, or Ireland, you will find colleagues who take pride in high-quality work, strong client relationships, and looking out for one another.

Why joining us

Big Enough to Offer Everything, Small Enough to Know You

PKF offers something that few firms of our breadth can: genuine career depth across audit, tax, advisory, and specialist services, combined with a culture where individuals are known, valued, and supported. You will have the opportunity to work with varied, challenging clients while developing your career in a dynamic environment where meritocracy is real — progression is based on what you deliver, not how long you have been here. We invest time and resources in your skills, training, and wellbeing from day one, and we believe strongly that the personal development of every team member matters. Our people have access to international opportunities through the PKF Global network, which spans more than 150 countries, adding a dimension that few mid-tier firms can offer. If you have ingenuity, a commitment to deliver, and a belief in treating everyone with respect, PKF is a place where you can build something genuinely meaningful.

Career path

Meritocratic Progression Across All Disciplines

Career progression at PKF is meritocratic. Whether you join in audit, tax, advisory, or a specialist practice area, your advancement is driven by the quality and impact of your work rather than tenure alone. Progression is reviewed regularly — typically at annual appraisals — and there is ample scope to move upward as our practices grow. A typical path moves from trainee or graduate through to assistant manager, manager, senior manager, and director before partner consideration, with each stage bringing increased client leadership responsibility and technical depth. For experienced professionals joining at a senior level, PKF offers early ownership of client portfolios and meaningful involvement in practice development. Career coaching from firm leaders and hands-on client experience are embedded throughout, ensuring that development is continuous and intentional rather than incidental. International secondment opportunities within the PKF Global network are also available and actively supported.

Training

Robust Training Programmes and Personalised Development

PKF believes strongly in encouraging the personal development of every member of staff. The firm supports and funds both internal and external training courses covering technical and non-technical subjects, and professionals are expected not only to manage their own development but also to take an active role in the training and development of junior colleagues — creating a culture of mentorship at every level. For graduates and school leavers, structured professional training programmes lead to qualifications such as ACA (ICAEW) or ACCA, with dedicated study support and time off for exams. For experienced hires, the firm provides technical updates on emerging issues in audit, tax, and advisory alongside access to personalised professional development through hands-on client work and career coaching from senior firm leaders. Our Technical and Compliance team regularly prepares and presents training on accounting and auditing matters both internally and externally, keeping our professionals at the forefront of their fields.

What we are looking for

Talented, Determined, and Client-Centric People

We are always looking for talented, determined, and client-centric individuals whose ideas, energy, and enthusiasm can help drive us forward. Whether you are a school leaver, a graduate, or an experienced professional, what matters most to us is the quality of your thinking, your commitment to delivering excellent work, and your belief in treating everyone with respect. People who succeed at PKF are relentlessly curious — they want to understand each client's business as well as the client does, even better if they can. They are problem-solvers who bring practical, commercial solutions, not just technical answers. Strong communication skills and the ability to build genuine client relationships are fundamental across all roles. For more experienced candidates, up-to-date technical expertise across your chosen discipline, and the ability to manage client portfolios and develop junior colleagues, are key attributes we value highly.

Recruitment Process

A Personal and Transparent Recruitment Experience

Our recruitment process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time. For most roles, the process begins with an initial CV and covering letter submission to our recruitment team. We aim to make personal contact with all applicants, though due to high volumes, if you have not heard from us within ten working days your application may not have progressed at that stage. Shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews with hiring managers and team members relevant to the role — these conversations focus on your experience, technical skills, and how you approach client and team relationships. HR interviews may also be included, and an assessment or written exercise is used for certain positions. Pre-employment vetting, including reference checks and professional qualification verification, is completed before an offer is confirmed. Throughout the process, our team aims to provide timely feedback. We manage an active referral scheme and encourage candidates to engage with our talent network to stay connected with future opportunities.
