About Us

Creating Meaningful Value

The Beekman Group is a private equity firm founded in 2004 and named after the storied Beekman neighborhood of midtown Manhattan — a small, below-the-radar district that nonetheless serves as a gateway to the very best New York has to offer. That origin story is our origin story. We are designed to serve as the gateway to the best of private equity acumen for lower middle-market companies: those that are ready, capable, and driven to operate with the professionalism and sophistication of world-class industry leaders, but that need the right partner to get there. With over $1 billion in assets under management, access to additional capital through strategic co-investment relationships, and more than $8 billion in total transaction value across 200-plus transactions since inception, Beekman has spent more than two decades proving that the greatest opportunity in private equity lies precisely where others overlook it — in established, growing businesses with revenues between $10 million and $300 million. Our portfolio companies have collectively grown revenues from approximately $900 million to over $5 billion during Beekman ownership, a testament to what true partnership with management can achieve.

Who we are

A Team with Significant Private Equity Experience

At our core, we are a team of experienced private equity professionals and seasoned operating executives who have spent careers building businesses from the inside out. Our investment professionals are all actively involved in evaluating new opportunities and overseeing our portfolio — there are no passive participants at Beekman. What truly distinguishes us is our Industry Advisor model: a select group of proven senior executives, each with an average of 30 years of relevant experience, who serve on the boards of our portfolio companies and are exclusively available to Beekman's lower middle-market investments. With over 14 active Industry Operating Advisors spanning healthcare services, consumer services, business services, financial services, and industrial services, we bring a depth of domain expertise that goes well beyond financial engineering. Since inception, Beekman investment professionals have personally committed 15% of all invested capital alongside fund investors and management teams — because we believe that true partnership means having real skin in the game.

What we do

Transforming Businesses in Partnership with Management

We partner with management teams and owners who are seeking a long-term capital and strategic partner to grow their established firms into market-leading businesses. Our work centers on lower middle-market companies in service-related sectors — healthcare services, consumer services, and business services — where we have built deep expertise and lasting relationships over more than two decades. Beekman leads control-oriented equity investments — management buyouts, recapitalizations, consolidation platforms, growth capital transactions, and special situations — typically between $30 million and $300 million in transaction value. Once invested, we deploy a structured Value Creation Roadmap across four critical areas: Strategy, Finance, Management, and Operations. We provide board leadership and strategic guidance, access to institutional debt and equity capital, leadership development and key personnel recruiting, and operational support on everything from best-practices implementation to acquisition integration. Across every investment, management teams retain an average of over 30% ownership — because we believe the best outcomes happen when the people running the business are building it for themselves, alongside us.

Our Purpose

A Focus on Building Great Businesses

Our mission is straightforward: we create long-term value for our Limited Partners through the identification, investment in, and building of great businesses in partnership with management. That single sentence drives everything we do — from how we source investments to how we sit across the boardroom table from the leaders we back. We believe the lower middle market represents the greatest and most enduring opportunity in private equity. Many well-positioned companies with strong management teams are constrained by limited access to institutional capital, insufficient management depth to scale, and a shortage of experienced partners who understand their industries. Beekman exists to close that gap — providing not just capital, but the operational expertise, industry relationships, and long-term commitment that allow exceptional businesses to reach their full potential.

Our Values

Core Values That Drive Results-Based Leadership

Beekman believes that clear objectives and visible core values are the foundation of great leadership — and we hold ourselves to the same standard we encourage in every portfolio company. We treat our Limited Partners with respect and transparency, understanding that their trust is the foundation of everything we do. We are true partners with our management teams, not just capital providers. We act with high integrity in the long-term interests of Beekman and all of its stakeholders. We focus on building strong, sustainable operating businesses rather than short-term financial outcomes. We are committed to developing our leaders and our team to drive execution and management excellence. And through it all, we work smart — and we make sure to have fun doing it.

Why working with us

Why Beekman

Management teams and business owners choose Beekman because we offer something genuinely different: flexible and patient capital shaped around the needs of the business, not a rigid fund timeline; a proprietary Industry Advisor model that embeds sector-specific expertise at the board level from day one; and an investment team that has personally committed $1 of every $7 invested alongside founders, management, and limited partners since inception. Our 25-year track record speaks plainly. Portfolio companies that partner with us have grown revenues nearly fivefold in aggregate. We have completed over 200 transactions and generated more than $8 billion in total transaction value. But perhaps the most telling evidence is what the people who have worked with us say: that Beekman provides far more than capital — they deliver strategic guidance, infrastructure development, and a disciplined focus on value creation. We have the experience, the resources, the industry relationships, and the personal financial commitment to be the kind of partner that helps companies reach the level they always knew they could achieve.

Sustainability

A Responsible Corporate Citizen

Since our founding in 2004, Beekman has strived to be a responsible corporate citizen — recognizing that thoughtful management of environmental, social, and governance issues is not separate from long-term investment success, but integral to it. Our ESG policy is guided by principles primarily consistent with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment and continues to evolve across our global and diverse investor base. We incorporate ESG considerations during the due diligence phase of every potential investment and throughout the lifecycle of each portfolio company. We encourage our operating companies to develop their own effective ESG programs, work toward meaningful disclosure, and actively reduce their environmental footprint. Portfolio companies in our network have led on sustainability in tangible ways: Another Broken Egg Cafe has adopted responsible and sustainable packaging and food sourcing initiatives; Mesmerize produces 100% recyclable and compostable coffee sleeves distributed across its national network. We hold ourselves and our companies to the highest level of ethical standards — and we believe that doing so builds better businesses.

Community & Impact

Support for Communities

Our commitment to bettering communities starts within our own office and extends across every business in the Beekman network. We encourage our employees and portfolio companies to donate their time, talent, and resources to the communities in which we operate — and the examples are wide-ranging and genuine. REVA, the largest dedicated fixed-wing air ambulance provider in the Americas, has contributed medical staff and supplies to hurricane relief efforts across Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. TBG Food Investors supported campaigns to feed frontline healthcare workers at St. Barnabas Hospital during the most difficult months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Twin Boro Physical Therapy rallied its employees and community every October to raise awareness for breast cancer. Across the Beekman network, people at every level give to a range of causes including disaster relief, education, science, underprivileged youth, and more. Community is not a program at Beekman — it is a reflection of who our people are.

Inclusion & Diversity

Commitment to People

Beekman is committed to fostering an equal, diverse, and inclusive work environment within our own office and across the portfolio companies of the funds we manage. Our team brings a diverse set of professional backgrounds to every investment decision and portfolio oversight role, and we believe that diversity of perspective is inseparable from the quality of our thinking and outcomes. We are respectful of all those affected by our investment activities and are committed to full compliance with applicable national, state, and local labor laws in every jurisdiction in which we operate and invest. These are not policies we apply at arm's length — they are principles we hold ourselves accountable to at the firm level and actively promote throughout our network of companies and people.
