Sustainability

Our commitment to environmental sustainability

ADP considers environmental sustainability to be a key initiative in our strategic corporate social responsibility program. Our goal is to reduce waste, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and our energy needs across the globe through many different initiatives including recycling programs, LEED certified buildings, environmental risks and disaster preparedness for our facilities; providing hybrid cars for our sales force; and constantly reviewing opportunities for alternative energy sources and reducing energy consumption in our buildings. We contribute to reduced global waste, greenhouse gas emissions and our energy use through recycling programs, green building certifications and the use of efficient vehicles. We committed to short- and medium-term targets towards our pledge to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

ADP associates participate in hundreds of local charitable initiatives during our annual Global Month of Caring. We also give to disaster relief, humanitarian and other philanthropic efforts around the world year round. Everything we do is about unlocking human potential. That's why we're proud to invest heavily in the employability of future generations—building schools, contributing to STEM programs, supporting women's leadership opportunities, and more. We support programs and initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity International, Junior Achievement Worldwide, Rise Against Hunger, Dress for Success and Girls Inc., as well as local and regional organizations in the countries where we do business.

Staying ahead of the changing world of work means understanding what different businesses (and their employees) want and need to grow and be successful. We support global and community programs that empower transitioning military veterans, young people and people with diverse abilities. We set goals for the number of women and minority leaders in our executive ranks, and we have reached our goal of 35% women and exceeded our goal of 20% minority representation—with 23%. To help advance pay equity, ADP no longer asks US job candidates for their pay history. We received a 100 percent rating for the twelfth consecutive year in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation annual Corporate Equality Index. Forbes has listed ADP as one of American's best employers for diversity, and Working Mother has named us one of the best companies for multicultural women.
