About Us

We Shape Supply Chains Globally

Arvato is an international supply chain management company with the strongest customer orientation and the greatest focus on people and technology. Part of the Bertelsmann Group, we operate across more than 100 locations in 18 countries — from Germany and Poland to the United States, Canada, China, Singapore, Australia, and beyond — with approximately 20,000 employees working every day to keep our clients' businesses moving. We are organized by industry so that every client benefits from genuine sector expertise, not generic logistics. Our organization is continuously expanding its global network, most recently opening our first warehouse in Dubai to serve the growing Gulf and GCC markets. We are the trusted growth and transformation partner for international brands in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, healthcare, tech, industrial, and publishing — and we take pride in the fact that what we do for our clients goes far beyond goods in and goods out.

Who we are

We're On It — Innovative, International, Hands-On, Curious

We are a team of around 20,000 people who believe that logistics is far more than moving boxes. We are innovative pioneers who challenge convention, international colleagues who navigate multiple cultures every single day, hands-on operators who thrive at pace, and genuinely curious thinkers who are constantly asking how things could work better. Our organization is aligned to the needs of our internationally operating clients, led by a management team structured around industry verticals — Tech, Healthcare, Fashion, Beauty & Luxury, Publisher, and more — so that every client has a dedicated team that truly understands their world. We empower one another, think together, change together, and solve problems together. In the warehouse and in the office, at peak season and in steady state, we are one team.

What we do

We Set Everything in Motion for Our Clients

We develop holistic, innovative supply chain solutions that cover the full journey from strategy to last-mile delivery. Our Supply Chain Management offer starts upstream — with logistics network design, logistics network design, client system integration, omnichannel fulfillment, e-commerce and B2B fulfillment, and order-to-cash processes — ensuring that end-customer needs are at the heart of every decision. Through our Logistics and Fulfillment services we handle warehousing, inventory management, order management, returns, value-added services, multilingual customer service, and financial services from a single source across 100-plus connected locations worldwide. Our Transport Management capability covers last-mile and linehaul networks, carrier management and procurement, customs and trade management, freight control, and specialist dangerous goods and temperature-controlled transport. Completing the picture, our Digital Solutions arm delivers data analytics, marketplace integration and management across 130-plus platforms, webshop development, and our proprietary Customer Experience Cloud — a SaaS solution that creates full parcel-shipping transparency and enables digital returns both online and in-store. Across all of this, we deploy state-of-the-art automation and robotics, orchestrated through our unified Warehouse Control System, to drive throughput, accuracy, and scalability for every client we serve.

Our Purpose

Our Clients' Trusted Partner for Growth and Transformation

Our vision is to be the international supply chain management company with the strongest customer orientation and the greatest focus on people and technology. That vision gives our daily work its direction. We believe supply chains are not a back-office cost — they are a strategic lever for growth, customer loyalty, and competitive advantage. Everything we do is oriented toward delivering real value: shortening delivery times, creating transparency, enabling new markets, reducing complexity, and supporting our clients in building supply chains that are not only efficient but sustainable and resilient. We do not pursue innovation as a showcase. For us, technology has to offer genuine, measurable value for the clients who trust us. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Our Values

The Four Commitments That Guide Everything We Do

Our daily work is clearly aligned with four values that are not aspirations on a wall — they are the principles that drive how we operate. We are obsessed with our clients: we have aligned our entire organization to the needs of our internationally operating clients, with a strong team and clear value propositions dedicated to creating the greatest possible value in every area. We care: our actions have an impact on our employees, on society, and on the environment, and people are the focus of everything we do — spanning environment, learning, inclusion and belonging, health and well-being, and fair working conditions as our ESG action areas. We are one team: we master the fast pace of modern logistics together, empowering one another by thinking, changing, and solving problems collectively. And we drive innovation: as a digital pioneer in logistics and e-commerce, we develop innovative solutions using state-of-the-art automation, software, and robotics — not because it looks impressive, but because it delivers real value for our clients.

Why working with us

The Supply Chain Partner That Turns Complexity into Performance

Our clients choose us because we combine things that are hard to find in one partner. We bring deep industry expertise — organized by sector, not generalized across it — together with one of the most extensive international logistics networks in the world: over 100 locations across 18 countries with more than 3.3 million square meters of warehouse space. We are a digital pioneer and genuine automation leader, deploying vendor-agnostic robotics, shuttle systems, AutoStore grids, AI-powered picking and depalletizing robots, and our own unified Warehouse Control System to orchestrate it all into a single, high-performing operation. We offer scalable, flexible solutions that grow with our clients — from startup e-commerce volumes through to high-volume peak-season fulfillment for global brands. Our client list includes Douglas, Deutsche Telekom, H&M Group, Harman, Olympus, Sennheiser, and Elli, and our success stories demonstrate what genuine partnership looks like. We are not just a provider. We are the trusted partner for growth and transformation — and we are on it.

Sustainability

Our Way to Climate Neutrality — We Take Responsibility for the Environment

As a global logistics provider, our ambition extends far beyond moving goods from A to B. We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and contributing to a sustainable future for people, partners, and the planet. Since January 2023, we have purchased 100% green electricity worldwide for all our distribution centers, sourced exclusively from solar, wind, and hydro generation, preferring direct supply contracts over certificate-only approaches. We have committed to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 against our 2018 baseline, with unavoidable residual emissions to be offset from 2030 onward through long-term carbon sequestration projects. We already operate 19 photovoltaic systems across our global site network, and we are continually adding more. Our buildings are certified to internationally recognized standards — LEED, DGNB, and BREEAM — across sites in Austria, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In the US, we are a member of the EPA's Green Power Partnership program. We track all direct and indirect emissions through our proprietary green.screen platform, which involves over 100 employees worldwide in annual environmental data analysis. And sustainability runs through our operations themselves: paperless warehousing, automated right-size packaging that eliminates shipping air and reduces cardboard waste, AI-powered depalletizing robots that improve efficiency while reducing physical strain, refurbishment solutions that save around 44 kg CO₂e per device versus new production, and transport emission tracking in partnership with EcoTransIT. Since 2024, we report all of this through our comprehensive ESG Report — covering Environment, Social, and Governance dimensions — as part of our commitment to full transparency on our progress.

Inclusion & Diversity

Inclusion and Belonging — Every Individual Has a Place Here

We are an international team that is continually growing. Working across the globe means we encounter many cultures every day, and we believe that these different environments — with the variety of ideas, experiences, and backgrounds they bring — genuinely help us thrive as a company. We create a workplace where every employee is respected and supported within an environment that enables all of us to perform at our best. Our commitment is rooted in the core values of our company: respect, tolerance, equal opportunity, and inclusion. Our leadership — including the Board, managers, and HR — lead by example, cultivating an open atmosphere where every individual feels they belong and can reach their full potential. We stand firmly against discrimination, harassment, and any form of unequal treatment, and all employment decisions are made without bias. We continuously improve our internal processes, policies, and work environment to reflect these principles, supported by regular communication campaigns, inclusive language training for all employees, and specialized nondiscrimination hiring training for recruiters and managers. We are committed to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the core labor standards of the ILO. As part of the Bertelsmann Group, which signed the Diversity Charter in Germany in 2007, has been a corporate partner of PROUT AT WORK since 2017, and has been a Corporate Forum member since 2015, our inclusion commitments are embedded in a broader Group-wide framework — and reflected in our 2024 ESG Report, which makes our progress transparent and holds us accountable.
