Working with us

Purpose-Driven Work, Global Scale

At Gallagher, we empower businesses to grow, communities to thrive, and people to prosper — and it takes extraordinary individuals to make that happen. With nearly 70,000 professionals across more than 130 countries, we bring together deep industry expertise and a shared belief in doing business the right way. Our culture is grounded in The Gallagher Way, a set of values that have guided every decision since Arthur J. Gallagher founded the company in Chicago in 1927. We don't just offer jobs — we offer careers with purpose, driven by leaders who are genuinely invested in helping you succeed.

Why joining us

Growth for the Go-Getter

Gallagher is not for the wallflower. We are built for those who advocate for themselves and others, seize opportunities, have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and develop a strong case for new ideas. Our leaders are not distant figures — they are active mentors and accessible partners who are as engaged as they are visionary. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k), tax-advantaged health accounts, digital mental health services, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and a charitable matching gift programme. Whether you are drawn to our brokerage division, benefits and HR consulting team, or corporate functions, Gallagher is a place where you can build a career with confidence.

Career path

Multiple Paths, One Direction — Forward

Career opportunities at Gallagher span sales and production, client service and account management, information technology, claims, risk management, and client consulting. Within our Client Service Organisation, we offer structured paths from client service associate through to national service leader, supported by on-the-job learning and internal mobility. Our GCAP programme gives early-career sales talent a 2.5-year phased development journey with structured training, mentorship, and exposure to multiple facets of the industry. Across all divisions, we are committed to providing a place where you can transform yourself — and our organisation — in the process.

Training

Structured Programmes Across Every Career Stage

We invest in development at every level. Our Achieve programme provides classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training for client service professionals. For entry-level sales talent, the Gallagher Career Associate Program (GCAP) is a structured 2.5-year journey. In reinsurance, REACH (available in both the US and UK) is an 18-month to 2-year paid programme covering actuarial, catastrophe modelling, and broking roles, including support for professional designations such as the CPCU and Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications. In Canada, the nine-month GIFTT programme fast-tracks new professionals to a broker's licence and their Chartered Insurance Professional designation. Across the UK, our Futures graduate programme and Rise programme provide structured routes into the industry backed by industry-recognised qualifications and mentorship.

What we are looking for

Motivated Minds Who Do Business the Right Way

We look for the idea makers, the knowledge seekers, the self-motivators, the opportunity seizers, and the trusted experts — people who understand that the only way to do business is the right way. Whether you are an experienced professional or an emerging talent, we value intellectual curiosity, a client-first mindset, and a genuine commitment to acting with integrity. Strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate across teams and geographies, and a drive to advocate for both yourself and your clients are qualities that help Gallagher colleagues thrive. Above all, we want people who are ready to bring their full selves to work every day.

Recruitment Process

A Fair and Transparent Hiring Journey

Our hiring process is designed to be equitable and straightforward. For most roles, it begins with an online application and resume review, followed by a screening conversation and one or more interviews with the hiring team, before an offer and background check. For structured development programmes, the process typically includes an online application, a one-way or telephone interview, an assessment centre, and a final interview — with clear communication at each stage on next steps and timelines. We never extend offers without a completed application and at least one interview, and we are happy to make reasonable accommodations at any stage of the process.

Good to know

Perks, Flexibility, and Community

Gallagher offers a rich range of employee benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, a 401(k) and Employee Stock Purchase Program, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and a charitable matching gift programme. Our Gallagher Thrive programme supports overall wellbeing through challenges, workshops, and digital fitness resources. Colleagues also benefit from volunteering days, flexible benefit options including gym memberships and season ticket loans, and access to digital mental health services through Talkspace. Our talent community allows prospective candidates to stay connected and be notified of opportunities that match their interests across all divisions and regions.

Diversity and Inclusion

Inclusion Woven Into How We Work

Inclusion and diversity are embedded into the fabric of our organisation, not treated as a separate initiative. Our CEO has signed the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge, and divisional and regional I&D committees — open to all employees — build education, awareness, and meaningful engagement across the business. We celebrate inclusion and heritage moments throughout the year, from Black Heritage and History Month to LGBTQ+ Pride and International Day of Persons with Disabilities. We have earned a score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index for six consecutive years, Mental Health America's Bell Seal at Platinum level for four consecutive years, and recognition as one of Newsweek's America's Greatest Workplaces for Women. Our partnerships with organisations such as NAAIA, NMDSC, BIIC, HIRMA, and Disability:IN extend our commitment well beyond our own walls.
