Sustainability

Driving progress toward net zero and beyond

We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030 as part of our global environmental program. Through our Impact Plan, we set out our Environmental, Social and Governance commitments and the actions we are taking to make a positive impact on the world. We help clients embed sustainability into their strategy and organization, using it as a driver of long-term value creation. Our ESG services span sustainability reporting and assurance, climate strategy, decarbonization, nature-related risk management, and regulatory compliance. We support clients in navigating evolving frameworks like CSRD, ISSB standards, and TCFD recommendations. Beyond client work, we partner with organizations like WWF to support nature conservation projects and contribute to global climate protection. We believe that sustainable development means meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.

Community & Impact

Strengthening communities where we live and work

We are committed to making our communities stronger, more vibrant, and better places to live and work. Through the KPMG U.S. Foundation and our global network, we focus on three pillars: education and workforce development, mental health, and community vitality. In FY25, the Foundation gave $25M+ to national and local organizations, and our people volunteered for more than 110,000 hours. We support literacy programs through our Friends & Family for Literacy initiative, which has provided 7.75 million+ books to children in low-income communities. Our Community Impact Day engages close to 20,000 professionals annually, connecting them with nonprofits to create meaningful impact. We've introduced the AI Impact Initiative to help nonprofits leverage technology for greater effectiveness. More than 1,200 of our people serve on nonprofit boards, spending 33,000+ hours enhancing governance and impact. We combine philanthropy, volunteerism, pro bono services, and innovative client solutions to drive positive social change and enable communities to thrive.

We've launched programs like Accelerate 2025 to ground our strategy for a more diverse workforce, the Black Lives Action Plan to empower those of Black heritage, and initiatives supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion, neurodiversity, and cultural diversity.
